Literature Text

You're a stranger passing by
Trying to forget the lies
And I see you holding tight
To a past that won't die

You're hollow and worn
I can see your heart torn
Haunted by choices you've made
You just want them to fade

Crash, but don't burn.
Fall, but don't die.
This is how you learn
To forget your lies

I see what you try to hide
I see you caving in
As more time goes by
I see more of your sins

I think you need some sun
Because you're looking so pale
I'd hate to see you lose control
And go off the rails

Crash, but don't burn
Fall, but don't die
This is how you learn
To get back up and try

You hardly notice me
I've tried to make you close
I've wanted to save you
And help you let go

But I am a stranger passing by
Trying to forget my own lies
And you don't see the truth
How much I long to save you

Crash, but don't burn
Fall, but don't die
This is how you learn.
This is a poem I wrote in five minutes.
It's about someone who will most likely never read it
But who knows? Optimism.

It's also kind of meant in a general way...
To anyone that's suffering, that wants to give up,
I know what it's like. I've been there and back plenty.
You're not alone.

It's slopping and a bit dry... I feel like it's missing something?
Constructive criticism welcome! Thanks for reading. ^___^

Holy shit, you're good! I can really feel the emotion in this one, and I can certainly connect to it.
